Annually, according to statistics of the Romanian Police, approximately 3,000 children disappear. Many of these disappearances are repeated run away from home. Mindra Simona is no exception.

In July last year the Romanian Police was notified that Simona, age 12, residing in the Mures district, disappeared from home. We were also asked to help, according to the protocol which establishes the procedure for cooperation between the Romanian police and the Focus Center, by the Mures police officers, to help find the girl.

Taking as its starting point the information provided by police, the case managers of the Focus Center, decided to post photographs and banners with Simona’s identification signs in train stations in several districts near the place of disappearance.

Wednesday, January 19 this year, we got big news. There were people who did not pass indifferent near the face of a child and Simona was found after the display made by Focus, by the railway police station staff in Cluj-Napoca East SNCFR . From staff reports from Cluj-Napoca railway police, the girl had been seen in that location, but it wasn't known that she was missing.

Safer Internet Day is a big European event unfolding annually in February, under the aegis of the European network "INSAFE" - European Safer Internet Network in the Safer Internet Plus Programme of the European Commission.

Safer Internet Day is aimed at promoting the use of online technology and mobile phones in a safe and responsible way, especially for the children and adolescents, and making them aware and educate them on the dangers of unsupervised Internet surfing.

Safer Internet Day, sponsored by Viviane Redin, European Commissioner for Information Society, has reached an overall level of participation, awareness and media coverage, being in continuous growth.

Came to the seventh edition, Safer Internet Day 2011 will take place on February 8 and will be celebrated in about 65 countries worldwide. The theme of this edition is: "It's More Than A Game, it's your life" and will focus on how children and young people manage images on-line and therefore, how we deal with privacy in digital environments .

"Romanian Center for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children - Focus is recruiting for Hotline promotion campaign, SAFERNET.RO Hotline. The campaign will take place from July 15, 2010 to August 15, 2010 Vitan inside the Mall, where it will be arranged a special stand.

Volunteers will be present both during the week and on weekends, between the hours 11.00-22.00, two / three shifts. Along with volunteers will participate Focus staff.

Its aim is to make known to the general public this way of reporting child sexual abuse materials and to contribute combating child pornography on the Internet.

Materials which will be distributed consist in presentations and information leaflets on the Hotline.

On 15.07.2010 at 10.00 at Focus on Str. 29 Amzei Church, 3rd floor, sector 1, Bucharest, will take place the first briefing lasting about an hour, in which volunteers will be trained and informed about the conduct of the campaign.

Healthy Kids Club comes to help flood victims in Moldova, and especially to help children.

Serbesti village, Bacau County, will receive donations for flood victims collected by Healthy Kids Club.
