Starting with 13 May 2010, FOCUS - The Romanian Center for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children has become member of INHOPE organization.
INHOPE was established in 1999 as part of the European Commission Safer Internet program, for combatting the illegal and dangerous content on the internet.
INHOPE represents and coordinates a global network of 38 hotlines on the internet, in 31 countries, helping the hotline to operate the reports concerning the illegal content on the Internet and materials with children who were sexually abused. The hotline proved to be an efficient „first line of defense” against illegal activities on the Internet. In the last 10 years, INHOPE has gained important experience in the fight against illegal content on the Internet.

Who can participate in the contest?
The contest is open to children under the school age, pupils and college students. It was launched on 25 May 2010, on the „International Day of Missing Children” and ended on 25 Juin 2010.

Project for informing parents on various domains of interest for the entire family
Preventing crimes may only have the best results only with the joint effort of specialized institutions/authorities and by attracting the civil society in activities of prevention.
For increasing the level of public-information with regard to the prevention measures which citizens ought to take in order to ensure the protection of their personal data, Mures County Police in partnership with FOCUS initiated the project called “I BELIEVE IN… EDUCATING PARENTS!”

On 9 February 2010 it is celebrated the European Safer Internet Day, event which takes place every year in more than 50 countries under the auspices of the European network INSAFE - European Safer Internet Network, as part of the European Commission Safer Inter Plus program.
In Romania, the event is to be organized by the consortium Sigur.info, coordinated by Salvati Copiii Romania, in partnership with Positive Media and FOCUS - The Romanian Center for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children.
For celebrating Safer Internet Day 2010, there will be organized 2 contests, one at a national level, and the other at a European level. The national contest, „How do others see you on the internet? Think before you post?” is organized by the consortium Sigur.info. Under the coordination of an adult, children between 6 and 19 years are invited to submit multimedia projects in which to illustrate the necessity of protecting the identity on the Internet and the consequences of not observing the rules for protecting personal data on social relations.

On the 20 November 1989, the General Assembly of the United Nations Organizations adopted by means of a resolution the Convention on the Child Rights, which has been recognized worldwide as the treaty for human rights and ratified at the largest scale in the history of the world.
According to its terms, the Convention of Child Rights (CDC) is a legal tool which defines the responsibilities of states regarding children and a framework for the tasks which are to be accomplished by every stakeholder at all the levels of the society regarding the rights of children.
Economic, sexual exploitation, abduction/kidnapping, selling and human-trafficking are phenomena which spread and it is hard to imagine more painful events for a child than going through these traumatic experiences.
