We ought to teach the children that safety means:
- To know their name, address, phone number, the name of their parents and that they should not share this information with strangers;
- Always to tell their parents where and with whom they are going out;
- To tell someone they trust if they feel scared or threatened;
- To ask for permission of the person who takes care of them before getting into a car, even if with a familiar person
- To ask for permission of parents or teacher if they want to go somewhere before classes;
- Not to open the door if they are home alone and if they do not wait for anyone to come;
- To accept a present or sweets only with the permission of their parents;
- To appeal to a policeman, a shop assistant or an adult accompanied by another child, in case they get lost and they need help;
- To know they must say NO if they feel threatened;
- To know that there is always someone who can help them;
